Yug Nirman Yojana is a movement to rebuild our world which seems to be falling apart, what with small wars in various parts of the world, terrorist led violence in nearly all the countries of the world, social violence arising out of grievances remembered from the past in different societies, domestic violence due to family discord between spouses, brothers, sisters, in-laws of all shades, hand-to-hand fights in lanes and by-lanes and a myriads of other types of situations where violence appears to have become a way of life. This movement was started by Pandit Sriram Sharma Acharya in Mathura way back in 1953 from Gayatri Tapobhoomi to enable Vyakti-Nirman i.e. development of each individual; Pariwar-Nirman i.e. development of each family; Samaj-Nirman i.e. development of the whole society and all these working towards Yug Nirman. Unless the mind-set engaged in violence is not diverted to creative activities it would not easily give up its addiction to violence which seems to provide quick solutions, what with a weapon in your hand. The political system which promotes a cult of violence has to look within itself to see that differences of opinion must begin to be addressed through dialogue for its own survival. What can each one of us do wherever we may be located? See what is the crying need around you! Can you do something about it? Look for allies from amongst the people who are affected- you are surely bound to get a few associates. Build a team and take your first step very carefully without antagonizing any one. Move step by step and build on your success steadily, remembering the sage advice 'Go to the people, sit with them and talk to them, understand their problem, take their views on possible solutions, present your views on the first step, start from what they know, build on what they have.' You must remember that without taking the first step there is no solution to our problems
